Siegen is a relatively small city with about 100 000 inhabitants in the region North Rhine-Westfalia in Germany, situated between the two major German cities of Cologne and Frankfurt. The city is located in a picturesque area along the small river Sieg among the green forested hills of Sauerland, Rothaargebirge and Westerwald. Siegen hosts an university with about 19 000 students and 2000 employees. In particular, the University of Siegen is well known for its large theoretical flavour physics group with around 40 members.
