DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Maksym Ovchynnikov (CERN)\n\nIn this talk\, I will p
rovide an overview of the scientific programme of the SHiP experiment from
  a theorist’s/phenomenologist’s perspective\, focusing on scenarios be
yond the Standard Model. I will begin with introducing the "lifetime front
ier" of new physics - hypothetical particles with lifetimes that are too l
arge for them to be searched for using traditional schemes at collider exp
eriments. Then\, I will describe the SHiP setup\, as well as discuss its s
ensitivity to lifetime frontier particles with mass in the GeV range\, con
sidering different signatures. Finally\, I will highlight the main complex
ities in robustly defining the parameter space of new particles to be prob
ed by SHiP\, which comes from large theoretical uncertainties and mismodel
 ling in describing hadronic interactions.\n\nhttps://indico.physik.uni-sie
