Description
The computation of multi-loop scattering amplitudes remains a central bottleneck in achieving the theoretical precision needed to fully exploit the increasingly accurate data from the Large Hadron Collider. The challenge is particularly daunting for processes involving many particles and masses, which are nonetheless of great phenomenological interest for the LHC. The main difficulties arise from the enormous size of the resulting algebraic expressions and from the appearance of special functions for which a practical mathematical formalism is still lacking. In this seminar, I will present recent progress towards overcoming these obstacles, with applications to the computation of two-loop QCD amplitudes for key LHC processes.
