DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Uli Katz (ECAP\, Uni Erlangen-Nürnberg)\n\nKM3NeT i
s a neutrino telescope under construction in the deep Mediterranean Sea. I
 t comprises two detectors\, KM3NeT/ARCA close to Sicily\, with a projected
volume of one cubic kilometre\, targeting astrophysics by measuring neutr
inos in the TeV-PeV energy range\, and KM3NeT/ORCA off the French coast ne
ar Toulon\, which is much smaller and more densely instrumented and is opt
imised for investigating oscillations of atmospheric neutrinos between a f
ew and a few 100 GeV. The detector principle and technology as well as fir
st results of KM3NeT will be presented and put into context with the expec
ted KM3NeT sensitivities and results from other neutrino telescopes. An ou
tlook to the future of the field will conclude the presentation.\nEinladen
