DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Franz Muheim (Edinburgh)\n\nAbstract: This year mark
s the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the charm quark at the Brookhav
en National Laboratory and at SLAC - the Stanford Linear Accelerator. This
arguably provided the Standard Model of particle physics with an experime
ntal basis. During these five decades\, the heavy beauty and charm quarks
have been a fantastic laboratory to test Standard Model predictions. In pa
rticular the matter antimatter - asymmetry has been investigated\, which r
equires a violation of the charge-parity (CP) symmetry between particles a
nd antiparticles. Major recent results on CP violation in beauty and charm
quark\, which were measured mainly at the LHCb experiment at the Large Ha
dron Collider\, will be presented. Heavy flavour has also led to surprises
\, such as a new dawn of spectroscopy. Despite huge progress\, we know tha
t the Standard Model is incomplete and cannot accommodate the observed lev
el of the baryon asymmetry or dark matter. With a new upgraded LHCb detect
or and the Belle II experiment at SuperKEKB in operation a new level of pr
ecision measurement should be in reach. What will we learn from Flavour Ph
 ysics in the future?\n \nEinladender: Alexander Lenz / CPPS\n\nhttps://in
