Description

Abstract: Modern cosmology investigates concepts of fundamental physics in relation to gravity, most prominently dark energy and dark matter, through difficult-to-control astrophysical observations. In my talk I'll focus on gravitational lensing for mapping out the large-scale matter distribution, for probing the geometry of spacetime and for investigating models of gravity, and illustrate how astrophysics is influencing measurements by means of intrinsic alignments of galaxies.
