Description

I will present a first principle determination of the strong coupling constant, αs, achieving an unprecedented precision that surpasses the combined precision of all existing experimental determinations by a factor of two. Leveraging large-scale numerical simulations of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) on a spacetime lattice, and dedicated techniques, our result significantly reduces theoretical uncertainties in high-energy experiments, thereby enhancing the potential for discovering new physics and enabling rigorous precision tests of the Standard Model. At the same time it confirms QCD as the  theory of strong interactions across all energy scales.
